Kite trip in Nitinaht_Day4

We've got an another great day!! At the end, wind was almost good for 7m :) Off course, it's nice and sunny (super warm). We had to take off at 6 ish, but we're so exhausted after the session. I tried some tricks as always and also enjoyed surfboard as well. It's so much fun!! Many people were arriving that day and it's getting really crowded...so maybe it's good time to leave. I wish I could stay more, but it's okay. I start missing Squamish flat water already!!

Kite trip in Nitinaht_Day3

That day was great! It's sunny and windy :) I was well powered on 10m for a day. Nitinaht lake is so huge that I can practice freestyle almost everywhere. I went upwind for a while and found a bay above the river. The water was really flat, but unfortunately it's kind of wind shadow out there, so wind was not great :( Well, I still had a lot of practice that day, like Tantrum, S-bend and Dangle pass. Compared to Squamish, Nitinaht is way too choppy but water is extremly warm, so I can't be stressed out from cold water. Anyway, we had a blast time and so far best day!!

Kite trip in Nitinaht_Day2

Second day was the shittiest day. It wasn't sunny, wind was light and bit cold... however, we're still happy to able to ride that day!! Wind died earlier and things turned to beer fest :) I drunk 10 cans of beer, smoked a lot and got hammered. Oh, by the way we're so pissed off that night. During kiting, somebody moved our 10 burgers outside from cooler. What happed then, a dog eat them all!! We lost freaking 10 burgers a day!! We picked up an ax and almost beat up that dog :( We really seemed to have bad luck for dogs. Last year, a dog peed on my buddy's kite bag. This year, peed on my golf bag. You know what, leash those stupid dogs and don't let them go. If you can't do that, don't bring them to the camp site. What the owner said to me, "Oh sorry, some dogs must have peeded there before."
"WTF!" You blamed dog's behavior!? I almost said "Clean up this shit or buy me new one." I think I was too nice. Well, life goes on, so forget this.

Kite trip in Nitinaht_Day1

I went kiting at Nitinhat in Vancouver Island for 4 days. I woke up at 5:00 in the morning to cathch first ferry, but my buddy woke up late. Therefore, we gave up first ferry and took second one at 8:30. Our car was fully packed and we couldn't see the back at all... We went shopping in Nanaimo to get some foods and drinks. Last year, we ate burgers only and we had a heavy constipation at last, so we tried to buy some fruit and vegies this time. We only bought 30 cans of beer. We didn't not how much beers we would need for 4 days.
After passing Youbou, we drove on dirt road for 50 km. I tired up to 80 km/h and people said it's way too crazy, ha ha ha. First, we set up the camp (we're lucky, because we're able to get nice camp site) and just went kiting. It's kind of light, but still good on 10-12m.
Dinner was great, we had libs and soup that night!!

Wet day in North Vancouver

I went to Squamish Wind competition last Friday. It's three days wind festival, but unfortunately wind didn't blow last two days...yet we still had a blast time on Friday!! Me and my friend went there Thursday night and camped on the spit. Next day, inflow started around 10:30. I pumped up 10m and just went out. Only three of us were out, wind was great and water is super flat :) Such a great time!! Windfest started at 11:00. I was in first heat of racing. In my heat, there is Sam who is national rider sponsord by Naish. He's super fast...it's really good opportunity to compete with such a great kiter and he's really nice guy. I ended up with 5th place and couldn't go to next heat. That's okay, it was fun!!
Some of local kiters made a kicker for this windfest. I took fins off from my board and gave it try. It was first time for me, yet I crushed so many times still it's super fun!! I believe that bindings work well for this kind of stuff.
We had a party at night. Free beer were given by Remax! Many people got hammered (: I took my clothes off and chugged the beer up side down (sorry for no picture).
I stayed only 2 days, but I feel like stayed more than that because of too much fun! Next day, I went back to North Vancouver and just chilled. Well, shopping was quite fun and fish and chips was too much for me.

Kite Trip (Squamish, BC, Canada)

Squamish is locaed between Vancouver and Whistler. It means "Mother of Wind" in native language. The temperature difference between those two cities causes thermal effect and gives us nice inflow. Reliable wind blows from morning to late afternoon (sometimes night!) at 20-25 knots.
Kite spot (Squamish spit) is basically river, but water is glacially one. Therefore, there is tide change, current is fast and water is quite cold...Still, people are really happy with reliable steady wind and flat water. Instead of many other kite sopts all over the world in summer, the reason why I chose this spot is friendly people. People know me and I know them well. I belive that it is really important for me to get comfortable. If this journey was 1 or 2 weeks, I would go somewhere else. I biked a lot to get to the spit, but got a ride from friends sometimes. I'd like to thank everybody who helped me in Squamish.
During this kite trip, I mostly focused on basic tricks (like backroll, frontroll and raley). I like wakeboarding style, thus Squmiahs flatwater is really kick me in. Practice went along and my style is getting better. Now, I can try some more advacned tricks. Once I tried unhooked kiteloop and crushed, I broke my board. However, warranty worke and I got a bland new board!!

Vancouver Pride Parade

This is the gay and lesbian parade held in Vancouver every year. Those kinds of people visit Vancouer from all places of Canada. It's started from 12 ish and lasted till 4:30. There were so many spectator everywhere just to watch this parade. The parade itself was quite good. I can tell most of them tried to entertain us except for a few stupid ones. However, it was hard for me to see their messeages that were supposed to be given by them. I believe that they have to advocate their identites as gay or lesbian. I know there are still discrimination and prejudice for them, and city is not completely open mind (better than Japan). Obviously, this parade is meant to be the palce they are able to say who they are in public. I agree with that having a fun is the most important, however if they lose the true purpose for this parade, it doesn't mean anything...
Well, this is my personal opinion. So, never mind!! At least I had a blast time watching hot lesbians!!
